The Sandwich Generation

What IS the Sandwich Generation? Well, to sum it up, it’s adults in their mid-thirties through sixties that are busy taking care of their own children, while their parents end up needing the same type of help.

This can be a really stressful time of life for the children of an Elderly parent. There are many ways that we can reduce stress around this time and situation. Today, we’ll focus on an easier route we’ve created for these families at Fairbrook Grove Assisted Living Home in Mesa AZ.

Those that come to Fairbrook Grove ALH are so pleased with our ability to help take a load off of our residents' families. We want to help our residents feel comfortable and at peace, but we also realize it’s a huge undertaking to take care of an elderly parent. Here are some ways we help the Sandwich Generation reduce their stress when they have their parents in our home.

  1. Julie, a Registered Nurse, lives on site and is highly involved in the care of your loved one.

  2. Julie is highly trained in geriatric care, wound care and nutrition for the elderly.

  3. We have 24-hour care

  4. Our nurse and caregivers take care of medications

  5. We work one on one with families to make sure the resident is balanced and happy

  6. Laundry and cleaning is done daily

  7. Nutritious meals and water is administered throughout the day

  8. Emotional, mental, spiritual, and physical needs are met in our home on a daily/weekly basis

  9. Certain supplies can be ordered straight through Julie and delivered to the home

  10. You can leave with a feeling of peace that your loved one is well taken care of each day and night

Having your loved one in Fairbrook Grove Assisted Living Home in Mesa AZ will be one of the best decisions you will ever make when trying to reduce your stress around caring for an elderly loved one.
